All Parents and Guardians

A Letter from the Head: Please read the end of term letter from the Head, Matthew Judd, here.

 

School Fees: The fees for 2019-20 have now been determined by the Board of Governors. Please read a letter from the Chair of Governors regarding fees here.

 

Transport Costs: There will be some changes to transport arrangements in the next academic year, 2019-20. Please read a letter from the Bursar here.

 

Ski Trip: There will be a blog available to follow for the School ski trip taking place during the Easter holidays. We will be pleased to share the link via Facebook and Twitter as soon as this is available.

 

Sports Photography: We are trialling the opportunity for parents/guardians to purchase images of their children involved in school sports events. The U13 Boys’ Rugby and Senior House Rugby Matches have been photographed. To view pictures or to purchase images, please see here.

 

Sustainability Survey: As part of their CAS project on sustainability a group of Fryer students would like to understand more about your transport arrangements to and from school. If you could please take a moment to complete this short survey, they would be grateful.

 

End of Term Grade Sheets and Reports: End of term reports for students in Year 11 and Upper Sixth and end of term Grade Sheets for students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and Lower Sixth will be available via the School Portal by the end of Friday 5th April. If you have problems logging on to the School Portal or viewing your child’s report please email Elaine Storey, Data Manager. 

 

End of Term Transport Arrangements: School transport will depart at 1.15pm on Friday 5th April and resume as normal on the first day of term, Monday 29th April.

 

MMC Official Opening: The Michael Malnick Centre for Music and Media is now officially open, following a sparkling celebration on 26th March. Explore our virtual tour of the new centre and watch our talented musicians perform in the Yamaha Live Lounge recording studio. Events and Reminders

 

Wednesday 1st May: Movies and Musicals Concert – All are warmly invited to the first concert of the Summer Term on Wednesday 1st May. The Movies and Musicals Concert will take place from 7.15pm in Main Hall. Please see the poster here.

 

RSVP Tuesday 14th May: Rambert Dance Company – Students are invited to watch our national dance company, Rambert, at Sadlers Wells on 14th May. Further information about the trip can be found in the attached letter. Please complete the form here by 3rd May, if you would like your son/daughter to join us. If you have any questions please contact Beth Butler, Dance teacher.

 

RSVP Friday 18th October to Sunday 27th October: China Trip – Students with an interest and curiosity for Chinese culture and history are invited to join an educational trip over Long Leave in October 2019. For more information please see the letter here, If you would like your son/daughter to join the trip please complete the form here and pay the £1,000 deposit by Friday 3rd May.

HPV Immunisations – HPV immunisation forms for Year 8 girls have recently been sent out to parents and guardians. If you have not yet completed this form on behalf of your child, please return a signed copy to the Health Centre as soon as possible. RSVP Sunday 29th March – Thursday 2nd April 2020: Beliefs and Values Trip – We are planning a trip to Rome, Italy for Year 9, 10 and 11 students during April Long Leave 2020. The trip will provide an insight into the AQA GCSE Religious Studies syllabus A and focus on Christianity: Beliefs, Teachings and Practices. Please see letter here for more information. RSVP Wednesday 8th May – ‘Tate to Tate’ Trip – Year 10 GCSE Art students are invited to visit Tate Britain and Tate Modern in London to provide fresh inspiration to develop portfolios in school. The trip will leave school at 8.15pm and aim to return by 8.30pm. Please see attached letter here and form here.

Year 11

 

Year 11 Academic Support Sessions - In order to support Year 11 students in their preparation for upcoming examinations, departments are running a number of regular academic support sessions at lunch times and from 4.30 – 5.30pm. RSVP Wednesday 19th June: Year 11 Prom - The Year 11 Prom, celebrating the hard work of the last two years, will take place on Wednesday 19th June. The evening will include a three course meal, entertainment, a photo booth, music and fun awards. More details are available in the attached letter. RSVP Saturday 11th May: IBDP Biology Trip - Lower Sixth students are invited to spend the day at Warburg Nature Reserve in Oxfordshire, practising fieldwork exercises relevant to the IB Biology syllabus. More details are available in the attached letter. If your son/daughter would like to attend please complete the online form by Tuesday 8th May. Please note there will be a small charge of £10 per student.
