For Parents

Guided Distance Learning Programme Feedback: Thank you to all our parents and guardians who recently completed the survey on our Guided Distance Learning Programme. Members of the Extended Leadership Team are analysing the feedback and developing our offer for the start of the Summer Term. We look forward to providing an update prior to the first day of term, Tuesday 21st April.

Start of Term: Please note that in a change to previously published advice, students will be returning on Tuesday 21st April into their Week 1 timetable.

Face Shields Initiative: Mark Smith, Head of DT, launched an amazing initiative last Friday to create 200 face shields in the School’s DT workshop to support NHS staff facing Covid-19 without adequate PPE. The growth of his idea has been phenomenal, involving a significant number of LP staff resident on the Park, and output has already exceeded 1,500! The full story is available on our website. If you have access to a laser cutter or would like to help with the distribution of completed face shields please email faceshields@leightonpark.com. If you would like to make a donation to support the purchase of materials, please visit our GoFundMe page. Thank you for your support.

LP Donate: To support those in need during the coronavirus pandemic, we would like to deliver donations to our partner organisations. The items urgently needed by 9.00pm on Monday 13th April are food for Prospect Park Hospital, as well as Lego or K’nex and sweet Easter treats for children at the Foundry Pupil Referral Unit. If you would like to get involved, please find more information on donating here.

Year 11: Please find attached the letters shared with all parents of Year 11 students on Thursday 2nd April, Friday 3rd April and Wednesday 8th April.

Upper Sixth: Please find attached the letters shared with all parents of Upper Sixth students on Friday 3rd April and Wednesday 8th April.

LP@Home Get Creative: Parents of our younger students may wish to be aware that the two cultural experiences recommended to students in our Get Creative offering within LP@Home might require their oversight. Così Fan Tutte explores themes of war and infidelity, whilst the production of Jane Eyre covers oppression and gender discrimination with passion and emotional turbulence.

Grades and Reports: Reports for Year 11 and Upper Sixth and Grade Sheets for Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and Lower Sixth have been available on the Parent Portal since the end of term. If parents/guardians have any issues accessing the Portal please email Elaine Storey, Data Manager.

Summer Term Fees: A letter from the Chair of Governors, David Isherwood, was shared last week with all parents and guardians regarding the fees for the Summer Term. If you should have any queries, please contact Keith Eldridge, Bursar.
