Co-Curricular Programme: Last week we were delighted to launch our Summer Term remote co-curricular programme. Your son or daughter can continue to sign up for as many hobbies as they please, by joining the relevant Google Classroom. If you should have any queries, please contact Natasha Coccia, Assistant Head: Co-Curricular and Outreach.
RSVP Tuesday 5th May - Online Parent Workshop: On Tuesday 5th May from 8.00-9.00pm, Olga will be sharing useful tips to help you manage parenting throughout Covid-19. If you would like to join this workshop, please complete the online form. The Zoom meeting and password will be provided on sign up. If you should have any queries, please contact Nicky Hardy, Deputy Head (Pastoral).
Pastoral Support Counsellors: Our School Counsellor is able to run remote sessions for students on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you feel this would benefit your son/daughter, please encourage them to contact SchoolCounsellor@leightonpark.com to arrange an appointment. Rachel Webb, our Pastoral Intervention Practitioner, is also available for students to talk to. Rachel can be contacted via email to arrange an appointment. Parents can also contact Nicky Hardy, Deputy Head (Pastoral), if they have concerns about the provision of pastoral care during this time.
Get Fit: There is a wealth of physical activity resources available via the Sport, PE and Wellness Google Classroom. As well as a back catalogue of live workouts, the team continue to post a number of sports specific sessions that are updated daily. Students can pick from these during games sessions. All core PE lessons are delivered live by either Jez Belas, Andy Gallacher or Zoe Macpherson.
Face Shields Initiative: As referenced on The One Show by Ross Kemp on Tuesday evening our face shields initiative has now delivered over 20,000 face shields to the NHS and keyworkers in the healthcare sector. We have received nearly £27,000 in donations on our GoFundMe page, thanks to your generosity. Watch You Will Be Found; a video testament to our strong values-based ethos which seeks to champion service education. Our Flickr gallery shows pictures from the DT workshop, our production partners and the recipients we have helped. If you require this vital PPE or are aware of people in need of face shields, please contact email@example.com. Thank you for your continued support.
LP Donate: To support those in need during the coronavirus pandemic, we are collecting donations for our partner organisations. The items urgently needed by 9.00pm, Monday 4th May, are second-hand gardening equipment and garden decorations for the Foundry Pupil Referral Unit If you should have any queries, please contact Natasha Coccia, Assistant Head: Co-Curricular and Outreach.
