Sponsored Walk 2016 – Last Chance to Donate

A huge thank you to all those who have donated online or via the more traditional cash method. We are currently just that little bit below our target of £15,000.

Every penny that goes to our four chosen charities is hugely appreciated and has the potential to change someone’s life for the better.

We will be inviting representatives of the charities back after half term to present them with the funds raised.

With this in mind, our online giving page closes on Monday 17 October so please do give generously if you have not yet had the chance.

Mr Alex Hunt
Assistant Head, Co-Curricular

Open Mornings
Thank you to all the pupils who helped with promoting the College at our recent Open Mornings. There was a wonderful and buzzing atmosphere around the site for both the Sixth Form and Whole School events. All the pupils were excellent ambassadors for Shiplake and we have received many positive comments about tour guides and the pupils helping in departments or showcasing activities.

Please note that the next Open Morning is on Saturday 18 March and that attendance is compulsory for all pupils in Years 9 to 13. May I take this opportunity to remind you that this open morning coincides with the ‘all-in’ weekend for weekly and full boarders, for which further details will be sent in due course. Thank you again for your support.

Director of Marketing and External Relations

The Concert is shaping up to be a great event with a little of everything in the programme and perhaps a little stocking filler or two. As always the Music Department would love to see you there on Thursday 24 November at 7.30pm in the Sports Hall.

Theme of the Week - Technology

This week, pupils and staff have been thinking about technology and e-safety. Mrs Louise Adamson, Head of IT, talked in assemblies about using technology and social media safely and also about the dangers involved. The weekly theme has coincided with World Mental Health Day on Monday and has given us the opportunity to explore the relation between these two very current themes. A Level Psychologists under Mr Ebbage’s guidance have talked to our youngest pupils about the issues surrounding mental health.

We recommend the following sites:
