Summer Reading Recommendations – The Library team have compiled a list of books for summertime reading on the theme of ‘sand and sea’. If your son/daughter is not already a member of your public library, now is a really good time to join, which you should be able to do online, giving them access to a wide range of e-books and magazines. BSA Covid-Safe Charter - We continue to carefully plan for the reopening of the School in September. As part of this, we are pleased to confirm that we have signed up to the Boarding Schools Association Covid-Safe Charter.

 

Houses and Boarding Letter – The attached letter was sent to all parents and guardians on Wednesday 10th June, regarding plans for House teams and boarding.

School Fees 2020-21 - The attached letter regarding school fees for the next academic year, 2020-2021, was sent to parents/guardians of students from Years 7 to Lower Sixth, on Wednesday 17th June. An additional letter regarding discount for parents paying annual fees in advance was sent on Friday 19th June. PSC Book Group – The PSC are pleased to announce the Reading List and Meeting Dates for 2020-21, perfect for your summer holiday reading. The first book is ‘Girl Woman Other’ by Bernadine Evaristo which will be discussed via an online meeting on Monday 28th September at 7.30pm. RSVP Mouthguard Fittings – Our mouthguard provider, Impact, will be visiting Leighton Park on Thursday 10th September. If you would like your son/daughter to be fitted for a mouthguard, at a cost of £54, please complete the online form. Year 8

 

Moving to the Senior Houses – Year 8 received their Senior House allocations via email on Thursday 25th June and the virtual orientation session for Year 9 was held on Tuesday 30th June by Mark Simmons, Head of Year 9. If you should have any queries about moving to the Senior Houses in September, please contact Adrian Stewart, Head of Lower School or Mark.

 

Year 9 Newcomers’ Day – In a change from the format of previous years current Year 8 students from Fryer are not expected to join our incoming external Year 9 students for Newcomers’ Day on Friday 4th September. The first day of term for 2020-21 Year 9s who are currently Fryers will be Monday 7th September. If you should have any queries, please contact Mark Simmons, Head of Year 9.
