All Parents and Guardians


Reports and Grade Sheets – Reports for Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth and Grade Sheets for Years 8, 10, 11 and Upper Sixth were made available on Friday, 15th February. The reports can be accessed via the ParentPortal. If you have trouble accessing either the portal or the reports, please contact Elaine Storey, Data Manager.

 

Dubai Netball Tour – Thank you to the parents and guardians of the girls who joined the netball tour to Dubai over Long Leave. You may like to see some images of the trip here and read more about it here.

‘Time’ Photography Exhibition – The Art Department invites all members of the community to take part in this year’s photography exhibition. This year’s theme is Time. Read more in the attached flyer and view the poster here. The deadline for submissions is Friday 15th March at 12.00pm. Please send all entries to Mark Wood, Head of Art.



RSVP Tuesday 5th March: PSC Committee Meeting Parents, guardians and staff are invited to attend the next PSC Committee Meeting on Tuesday 5th March, 6.30-8.30pm, in the Fiction Room, Library, Old School. RSVP Monday 4th March – Friday 8th March: Book Week We are delighted to announce that we will be celebrating Book Week again this year. Please see the attached letter and poster for more information. Please complete the online form by Friday 1st March, detailing whether you give your consent for your child to purchase books from the Book Shop which will be held in the Cadbury Room. Tuesday 26th March: Official Opening of the Michael Malnick Centre We are delighted to announce the official opening of the Michael Malnick Centre will be on Tuesday 26th March. There will be a Gala Concert from 7.15pm in Main Hall to celebrate and tours of the MMC will be available from 6.15pm-7.00pm. Tickets are free but spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to join us please book here.

 


  

Year 7


RSVP Tuesday 5th March: Author Steve Cole – Fryers will have the opportunity to meet author Steve Cole, on Tuesday 5th March. Steve will be delivering a talk to Fryers during Book Week and students will have the chance to purchase some of his books. Please complete the online form by Friday 1st March, confirming whether you are happy for your child to purchase books at this event. If you have any queries please contact our Librarian, Chris Routh.

Monday 4th March: Higher Education Evening Students, parents and guardians are invited to a Higher Education Evening on Monday 4th March from 7.00-8.30pm in Peckover Hall. There will be a presentation by Amanda Spurrier from Inspiring Futures on UCAS, UCAS Conservatoires and student finance amongst other topics, as well as an opportunity to ask questions. If you should have any queries, please contact Helen Taylor, Head of Sixth Form.

 

RSVP Thursday 7th March: Psychology Trip to LondonAS Level Psychology students are invited to course relevant exhibitions at the National History Museum and Science Museum in London. Details are in the attached letter. If your son/daughter would like to attend please complete the online form and submit payment of £28 as soon as possible. If you should have any queries please contact Claire Gulliver, Psychology teacher.

 

RSVP Tuesday 12th March: A Doll’s House Theatre Trip Sixth Form English students are invited to attend a performance of A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen at the Progress Theatre, Reading, on Tuesday 12th March from 7.00-10.30pm. Details are provided on the attached letter and the cost is £10. To reserve your son or daughter a place, please book here by Monday 4th March.

 

Tuesday 19th March: American Universities TalkStudents with an interest (however vague!) in applying to university in the USA are invited to a presentation at 4.30pm in Peckover Hall by Dr Jon Tabbart, Managing Director of Dukes US Application. Jon will be speaking about the different application procedures for American universities. If you should have any queries, please contact Helen Taylor, Head of Sixth Form.

 

RSVP  Monday 25th March: UCAS Higher Education ConventionStudents in the Lower Sixth considering what and where to study in higher education are invited to a convention at the University of London on Monday 25th March. The cost is £12 and will be added to your next school bill. If your son or daughter would be interested in attending, please read the attached letter and book here by Friday 8th March. RSVP Tuesday 2nd April: Africa Inspired Dinner Participants in the October 2018 Africa trips to Tanzania and Uganda are invited with their parents/guardians to a simple vegetarian African meal in Oakview at 7.30pm on Tuesday 2nd April. There is no charge for this event. A memento book will be given out to each student and additional copies can be ordered for £10 each in advance. Further details are in the attached letter. To confirm your attendance and to order memento books please complete the online form by Monday 4th March. If you should have any queries please contact Christine Banham, Office Administrator.

 

RSVP Thursday 13th to Friday 14th June: Geography Residential to Slapton Ley Lower Sixth IB and A Level Geography students are invited to Slapton Ley Field Studies Centre in June as part of their studies.
