Summer Kit List: Please see the attached reminder of the Summer Kit list for PE and Games during the Summer term. If you should have any queries, please contact Jeremy Belas, Director of Sport.

 

Lost Property: In accordance with our Lost Property Policy the lost property collected during the Spring term will be on display outside Townson from 4.15 to 5.15pm on Friday 3rd May and Friday 10th May. If you think your son/daughter may have misplaced any items, please do check. Any unclaimed items will be given to the Nearly New Shop or to charity after this date.

 

New Printer System: Over the Easter holidays we have introduced a new printer system allowing students to print from all sorts of different devices within school, including their personal devices. Please encourage your son/daughter to check their school email for their printer PIN that will allow them to collect their printouts securely using the new ‘FollowMe’ printer. Please see here for a short guide on how your son/daughter can print from their Chromebooks and here for printing from their personal devices.

 

School Fees: The fees for 2019-20 have now been determined by the Board of Governors. Please read a letter from the Chair of Governors regarding fees here.

 

Transport Costs: There will be some changes to transport arrangements in the next academic year, 2019-20. Please read a letter from the Bursar here.

 

Sports Photography: We are trialling the opportunity for parents/guardians to purchase images of their children involved in school sports events. The U13 Boys’ Rugby and Senior House Rugby Matches from the end of the Spring term have been photographed. To view pictures or to purchase images, please see here.

 

Sustainability Survey: As part of their CAS project on sustainability a group of Fryer students would like to understand more about your transport arrangements to and from school. If you could please take a moment to complete this short survey, they would be grateful.

 


 

 Events and Reminders

 

Wednesday 1st May: Movies and Musicals Concert – All are warmly invited to the first concert of the Summer term tonight, Wednesday 1st May, from 7.15pm in Main Hall. Please see the poster here. The programme will be available at the concert.

 

RSVP Tuesday 14th May: Rambert Dance CompanyThere are only seven seats left for students wishing to see our national dance company, Rambert, at Sadlers Wells on 14th May. Further information about the trip can be found in the attached letter. Please complete the form here by Friday 3rd May, if you would like your son/daughter to join us. RSVP Saturday 29th June: Music for a Summer’s Evening – Students and parents are invited to our annual outdoor music event taking place on Saturday 29th June, from 4.00pm until 8.30pm. Please see attached poster for more information.

 

RSVP Friday 18th October to Sunday 27th October: China Trip – Students with an interest and curiosity for Chinese culture and history are invited to join an educational trip over Long Leave in October 2019. For more information please see the letter here, If you would like your son/daughter to join the trip please complete the form here and pay the £1,000 deposit by Friday 3rd May.

 


 

Year 7

 

Fryer Summer Term Music Events – please see the attached letter regarding upcoming music events for Fryer students.

 

RSVP Language Options for 2019/20 Year 7 students moving into Year 8 next year should select a second modern foreign language from Mandarin, German or French while continuing their studies in Spanish. Provision for English as an Additional Language (EAL) is also available for eligible students. Please see the attached form to select your son/daughter’s language choice for Year 8.

 

RSVP Friday 18th to Tuesday 22nd October: Football and Hockey Tour to Holland - Students are invited to join a combined boys’ football and girls’ hockey tour to Arnhem, Holland during Long Leave, October 2019. Please see the attached letter for more information and complete the online form by Tuesday 7th May if you would like your son/daughter to attend. Year 8

RSVP HPV Immunisations: HPV immunisations forms for Year 8 girls have recently been sent out to parents and guardians. If you have not yet completed this form on behalf of your child, please return a signed copy to the Health Centre as soon as possible. The immunisation are taking place on Wednesday 22nd May. If you should have any queries, please email Lesley Boulkroune, Senior School Nurse.

Year 10

 

RSVP Wednesday 8th May: ‘Tate to Tate’ Trip – Year 10 GCSE Art students are invited to visit Tate Britain and Tate Modern in London to provide fresh inspiration to develop portfolios in school. The trip will leave school at 8.15pm and aim to return by 8.30pm. Please see attached letter here and if you would like your son/daughter to attend please complete the form here. Please note the deadline for the completion of this form is today, Wednesday 1st May. If you should have any queries, please contact Mark Wood, Head of Art.

 

RSVP Saturday 15th – Friday 21st June: Montpellier French Trip - If your son/daughter has already signed up for the French trip, please see the attached letter for more details. If you should have any queries, please contact Caroline Semeyn, French teacher.

 

RSVP Sunday 16th – Friday 21st June: Malaga Trip -Spanish GCSE students are invited to join a trip to Malaga in June 2019 to expand their Spanish language skills. For more information please see attached letter and complete the attached medical, dietary and behavioural consent form here by Friday 17th May. Year 11

 

Library Books: Please could Year 11 students return all of their library books before exam leave. If any books are required to support your son/daughter’s studies please ask them to come to the library to arrange an extended loan. If you have any queries, please contact our Librarian, Chris Routh.

 

Year 11 Academic Support Sessions: In order to support preparations for students’ upcoming public examinations, academic departments are running a number of regular academic support sessions at lunch times and from 4.30 – 5.30pm. RSVP Wednesday 19th June: Year 11 Prom – This is the last chance to sign up for the Year 11 Prom, celebrating the hard work of the last two years. The evening of Wednesday 19th June will include a three course meal, entertainment, a photo booth, music and fun awards. More details are available in the attached letter. RSVP Saturday 11th May: IBDP Biology Trip - Lower Sixth students are invited to spend the day at Warburg Nature Reserve in Oxfordshire, practising fieldwork exercises relevant to the IB Biology syllabus. More details are available in the attached letter. If your son/daughter would like to attend please complete the online form by Tuesday 8th May.
