All Parents and Guardians

Wednesday 27th March: IB Artists’ Exhibition – All are warmly invited to an exhibition celebrating two years’ worth of work by our International Baccalaureate Art students at 6.00pm on Wednesday 27th March in the Michael Malnick Centre. Please view the poster here.

 


 

Events and Reminders   

Thursday 21st March: House MusicAll parents and guardians are invited to the annual House Music competition in Main Hall from 6.30pm. Please note that tickets to seating on the balcony are now sold out but the event will be live streamed from Main Hall to MMC1 should you still wish to join us.

 

Friday 22nd March: Nearly New Shop – The nearly new shop will be open Friday 22nd March, from 4.30-5.30pm, in Fryer House to coincide with the Fryer Parent Tea. If you would like to see the pricelist beforehand please refer to our website.

 

Monday 25th March: Film ClubFilm Club continues on 25th March with old-school sci-fi ‘Moon’. Students in Year 10 and above are welcome to join us at 6.30pm in the Fryer Cinema Room. Please view the poster here.

 

RSVP Tuesday 26th March: Official Opening of the Michael Malnick Centre We are delighted to announce the official opening of the Michael Malnick Centre will be on Tuesday 26th March. There will be a Gala Concert from 7.15pm in Main Hall to celebrate and tours of the MMC will be available from 6.15pm-7.00pm. We are looking forward to being joined by Yamaha musician, flautist Lisa Nelsen. Tickets are free but spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVP Friday 29th March: Reports from a War Zone Parents and guardians are invited to hear Old Leightonian and Foreign Conflict Correspondent for The Observer, Shyam Bhatia, speak in Peckover Hall from 3.00pm to 4.15pm on Friday 29th March on the topic ‘Reports from a War Zone’. RSVP Tuesday 14th May: Rambert Dance CompanyStudent are invited to watch our national company, Rambert, at Sadlers Wells on 14th May. Further information is in the attached letter. Year 7 

 

Thursday 21st March: Fryer Voices at House MusicA reminder that members of Fryer Voices will be performing during House Music tomorrow, Thursday 21st March. Tea will be available in Oakview from 5.15pm, sound checks will take place at 5.45pm and the event begins at 6.30pm. Please collect your child at the end of the event from the Upper Foyer of the MMC. The anticipated finish time is 9.30-10.00pm.

 

Friday 22nd March: Fryer Parent Tea Parents and guardians are invited to the Fryer Parent Tea which will take place this Friday, 22nd March, from 4.30-5.30pm in Fryer House. This is an informal gathering of parents across both year groups in Fryer House. Whilst staff will be there, it is primarily an opportunity for parents to meet each other. The PSC Nearly New Shop will also be open.

 


 

Year 8

Year 11

 

Wednesday 19th June: Year 11 Prom - The Year 11 prom will take place in June. The evening will consist of a 3-course formal meal, with entertainment including a photo booth, music and fun awards. More details are available in the attached letter.

 


 

Lower Sixth

 

RSVP Saturday 11th May: IBDP Biology Trip - Lower Sixth students are invited to spend the day at Warburg Nature Reserve in Oxfordshire, practising fieldwork exercises relevant to the IB Biology syllabus. More details are available in the attached letter. If your son/daughter would like to attend please complete the online form by Tuesday 8th May. Please note there will be a small charge of £10 per student.
