Shiplake College - Weekly Bulletin

Dear Parents

Please see below this week's notices from the College.

Saturday Arrangements

Please click here for details regarding Saturday 14 January.

Year 11 Parents’ Conference

The Year 11 Parents’ Conference is on Friday 20 January (Sports Hall, 3.30pm - 6.00pm) prior to the start of the next Exeat weekend. Following very successful trials, we are now using an online booking system in order to better manage the timing of our Parents’ Conferences. We kindly request that all Year 11 parents visit where 7-minute appointments with individual teachers can be booked and schedules created very easily. Full instructions can be viewed here and a video demonstration is available here. We respectfully ask that all parents make appointments in this way as it will no longer be possible to see teachers without an appointment. We do hope that you find this facility useful and please contact me should you encounter any problems.

Mr Paul Jones
Assistant Head, Academic Studies

Please be advised that all school buses will be leaving the College at 3.30pm on Friday 20 January for the exeat weekend.

Parents’ Association Chairperson Vacancy

An exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Parents’ Association has arisen. The position of Chairperson has become vacant, as Dawn Greenaway steps down after a number of years. The role will see the chosen individual lead the PA to promote ‘fun, friendship and fundraising’, by creating and organising a variety of events to bring Shiplake parents together for socials and to raise funds for the College and other chosen charities. The Chair is ably supported by a driven and enthusiastic committee of parents from all different year groups. The role would suit someone who is motivated and eager to make a difference within the school. Meetings currently take place on the first Tuesday of the month at 8.00am. If you are interested in applying for this voluntary position, or have any questions, please email Dawn at
